Maine Fishing Guide
Bass fishing

The bass fishing for smallmouth is excellent in the Mattawamkeag River which is about 1 mile below camps. It may be less known than some of the other bass fishing spots in Maine, but the fishing may be better. There is a good chance you may be the only one fishing it. I have been told by some of the guests it is the best smallmouth fish they ever had.
There is also Wytopitlock Lake a few miles away and many other small ponds streams to fish in the area. Some are remote with hike in access only, with opportunity for fishing for bass pickerel, perch and at times brook trout.
